Ken “NARDO” Murray Drum Teacher
So you want to be a drummer... If you’re going to spend the money and effort to learn the drums, why not learn from the best. Ken “NARDO” Murray has been out there in the world and done most of what professional drummers want to do. He has toured with the big names, made his living as a professional drummer, spent years in Vagas playing the big clubs, and performed nine years at the Dollywood theme park. Think of it, more than thirty five years as a professional drummer.
NARDO can help make you the drummer you want to be. He teaches in the most modern “state of the art” studio in East Texas. The studio is located in an easy access business location at American Band Instrument Service 124 Shelley Dr. Tyler, Texas behind the IHop on the south loop.
He loves teaching. And most important, he is qualified to teach all styles of set drumming.

Cheryl Hale Flute Teacher
So you want to play the flute. I teach private lessons. I also play flute and piccolo with the Lake Country Symphonic Band and the Tyler Community Band. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, my favorite activity is to play in pit orchestras of musicals. In that realm, my claim to fame is playing 6 different instruments (piccolo, flute, alto flute, clarinet, alto sax, and baritone sax) in one musical!
If you want to prepare for All Region, or a Contest Solo, or just become a better flute musician, I would be happy to help you. Also, some adults want to start learning an instrument and I can help whit that.
I’m Cheryl Hale and have been with American Band Instrument Service since August of 1993. Before starting here, I was a band director at Mineola I. S. D. and before that at Frankston I. S. D. I am a Tyler native having graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. I have my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. I received my Master of Arts from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1997. My emphasis was in Woodwind Pedagogy.
